  • 1/2 pound boneless, skinless chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/2 pound turkey sausage, sliced into rounds
  • 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 small yellow onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • Cajun seasoning and smoked paprika for flavor

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water before draining.
  2. Season shrimp and chicken with Cajun seasoning. Sear the chicken in a skillet until golden brown; remove and set aside. Cook shrimp until pink; remove.
  3. In the same skillet, cook turkey sausage until browned; remove.
  4. Sauté bell peppers and onion in remaining oil until softened; add garlic and cook briefly.
  5. Make the sauce by melting butter and whisking in flour to form a roux. Gradually add broth and cream until smooth.
  6. Stir in cheese and seasonings; simmer to thicken the sauce before adding back proteins and vegetables.
  7. Toss cooked pasta in the sauce; use reserved pasta water if needed for consistency.
  8. Serve garnished with fresh parsley and green onions.
