  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup granulated sugar (for caramel sauce)
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter (for caramel sauce)
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream (for caramel sauce)
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt (for caramel sauce)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. For the brownie layer, melt butter in a saucepan and mix in sugar. Add eggs one at a time and stir in vanilla.
  3. In another bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, and salt; gradually mix into wet ingredients until just blended.
  4. Pour brownie batter into a greased springform pan and bake for 25-30 minutes. Let cool.
  5. For the cheesecake layer, beat cream cheese with sugar until smooth. Incorporate eggs one at a time along with vanilla and sour cream.
  6. Pour the cheesecake mixture over cooled brownie base and bake for an additional 30-35 minutes until set but slightly jiggly.
  7. For the caramel sauce, melt sugar over medium heat until golden brown; stir in butter and slowly add heavy cream while mixing continuously.
  8. Drizzle caramel over cooled cheesecake and refrigerate for at least two hours before serving.
