Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 chicken tenders (about 1.5 lbs)
  • 1 cup blanched almond flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
  • Olive oil cooking spray
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 cup hot sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. Prepare the coating by whisking eggs in one shallow bowl and combining almond flour with garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper in another bowl.
  2. Dip each chicken tender into the egg mixture followed by the almond flour mixture, coating evenly.
  3. Preheat the air fryer to 390°F (200°C) and spray the basket with olive oil. Arrange chicken tenders in a single layer and lightly spray their tops.
  4. Cook for about 7 minutes; flip the tenders, spray again with olive oil, and cook for an additional 4-5 minutes until crispy and golden.
  5. Melt butter in a pot over medium heat, then add hot sauce, honey, tomato paste, and season with salt and pepper. Whisk together until combined and let simmer for about 2-3 minutes.
  6. Once all chicken tenders are cooked through, transfer them onto a platter or clean plate.
  7. Pour the spicy-sweet sauce over them while warm and serve immediately.
